November 2000 - March 2001

           John Kelly, founding member/songwriter of Plunk Fusion, is steadfast with his drive and dedication to making his mark with music.  For seven years, the name Plunk Fusion has been synonymous with only one person, John Kelly.  Now, Plastic Movie Heroes will mark a new beginning for John as well as new drummer, Don Johnston who will be collaborating with him on this journey.

          From the moment I met John, I knew he meant business.  And by business, I mean his ability to play from within instead of on the surface.  As I meet more individuals throughout the musical community, I have learned a few things.  Mainly, there is nothing more important than playing from within, from your heart and from your soul.  If you have not achieved this, then you are merely a reflection of whatever music you are trying to play.

          I personally strive to create music that inspires emotion within my listeners.  This is one aspect of songwriting John and I have in common.  Equally as important as achieving an emotional response from listeners is taking a "less-is-more" approach to songwriting.  John has certainly mastered this one!
