The John Mazzarella
Band's music combines the grace and sensitivity of the
singer/songwriter tradition with an inventive and exciting approach
to the guitar. He creates a balance not often heard in music these
days."

The music
of The John Mazzarella Band is a collection of styles and influences : danceable pop tunes colliding with soft acoustic
numbers, blues tinged slide guitar workouts side by side with jam oriented
improvisations, not to mention the hints of jazz, electronic,
soul, funk and folk music that pop up from time to time.

I became a part of the J.M.B. through a very kind reference from Michael Raven,
a drummer who was already playing for John Mazzarella. He and John have
also known and worked with each other on and off for the last 8 years.
Michael has
since left the group to pursue music in his own way.

What I enjoyed
about this group is the fact that I was able to contribute more than just bass lines,
I took responsibility for artwork, mailings and John's website.
There was a time when John needed me as a steady partner for gigs, which
was nice because I was able to play some of my solo bass
instrumentals. It was a convenient for me, and eclectic show for
listeners full
of John's original folk/pop songs, my solo bass playing and a whole list
of familiar covers you might not hear everyone else playing.
The latest news on John is his debut album, scheduled to be released
sometime the end of February 2004! Connect with John at www.johnmazzarella.com.
