Numinosity is a project that I have been developing with the percussion styles of Mike Raven to create original music as a duo.  We are working with ideas that resemble ambient world music as well as more aggressive drum and bass instrumentals.

April 2002 - Present

This collaboration is one that has been (and continuing to be) built upon excellent chemistry, positive attitudes and a parallel approach to music.  Since April 1, 2002, Michael Raven has been my musical partner in a unique bass and drums duo project entitled Numinosity.  We met through a musician's wanted ad that I placed on an obscure website that I had never intended on visiting again.  From the moment I received his response, I knew that he wasn't going to be another "new metal" / "80's rehash" recruiter.

Michael & Jim

By combining our abilities Michael and I have been producing and recording music of all types.  So far we have captured everything from quiet, trance-like sounds to complex, lead bass arrangements and even some up-beat techno jams.  Having an open mind is important to both of us, so applying that mentality to our music is giving us almost limitless possibilities.

I invite you to take a listen to the following song ideas.  We're sure you will find them both entertaining and entrancing.  If you like what you hear, please send your comments to:  webmaster@bassdream.com.

The first track I recorded with Michael Raven.  It features me on didgeridoo and bass with Michael improvising on talking drum and background synth.

Cloud Ten is a story of what one may expect to find beyond "being on cloud 9".  It is by far the most complex piece of music I have written.

This track is a little different from the rest of the ambient tunes.  It has a cool phaser effect on the bass, lots of two hand tapping, bass solos and a drum kit to boot!

Also a little bit different than the ambient tracks, Two Elements is a collaboration between Michael and I where he introduced his kit drumming into the equation.
